Special features such as through-the-door dispensers, higher-end ice machines and flex drawers that can be customized make them stand out from the crowd.

We sought out experts like Ladina Schopf, an interior designer architect, founder, and co-founder of LS Projects, for tips on how to select the best one. They considered the capacity of storage, layout, and energy efficiency, among other features.

The name of the series suggests that the GE Profile series is aimed at people who want to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchens. This fridge is loaded with them all from the Keurig K cup coffee maker on the door to a sophisticated dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This fridge is expensive and I was expecting better.

Apart from that minor flaw, this fridge is a great choice. It has a large freezer compartment, which is uncommon in counter-depth french door fridge freezer with ice and water dispenser door fridges, and it can hold a decent amount of frozen food when compared to similar models.

The fridge comes with 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a french style american fridge freezer-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent-sized icemaker in the left door. However it's not the biggest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments for the perfect storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. The LED lighting is a nice touch. The in-door storage bins come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall items. The drawers come with temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to open and shut however I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you would expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and it has many options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when the refrigerator or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill it's an option in other GE fridges that allows you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. It also has a countdown feature on the fridge display to display how much water have remaining, but that's not as effective as Precise Fill.

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to look like it's a seamless component in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also boasts a veggie compartment to keep vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors for maximum preservation of food. The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and makes pyramid shaped ice using minimal water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single family or a kitchenette with an attractive design and top of the line food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for several reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just a few degrees Fahrenheit and never moving more than a fraction an inch. This is essential to avoiding freezing burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also did well. It reached the initial temperature set within an hour and remained at the temperature throughout our tests.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features a standard french door fridge ice dispenser door design, and two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded to provide more space for tall items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it simple to transfer frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer also has clever design features, like sliding drawers that help you sort your things. It also comes with a large bin that can hold plenty of frozen food items as well as an additional ice storage bin.

Smart InstaView panel is another awesome feature of the refrigerator. It allows you to control the temperature of your fridge, lighting, and more using your smartphone. It's a nice way to control and monitor your refrigerator, especially when you're away from home.

But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it does not necessarily enhance the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge than some of the others we tried. This could be due to its greater capacity.

The other issue we have with the door of this refrigerator. The sunken handles allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However, taller people still have a hard time closing them without slamming. It would have been better if they came with a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent option for those looking to combine the advantages of a fridge with a French door with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a great layout. It's also less expensive than the top counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which can make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't cost a fortune, this Frigidaire is a great choice. It's a minimalist design that's not as striking visually as other models however it comes with enough features to make it a solid pick. Its most important feature, the adjustable temperature drawer helps to keep food items such as vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water and ice maker dispenser.

Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. The drawer allows you to divert a portion of the fridge's cooling power directly to this area, so you can keep food items that need extra attention. You can alter this feature using an adjustable slider that is located just outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've noticed that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.

In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator stayed fairly consistent across different areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with a smart thermometer for more precise measurements of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is constructed of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body with a "smudge-proof" finish. It does a great job of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared with glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
