After a string of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally announced its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. It's called Space Petron Key To Lamborghini and created in collaboration with an undisclosed artist the project is based on a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material that was delivered to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The 'collectors piece' was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to just five units. It is scheduled to be auctioned in the near future.

At the heart of each Space Key is a block of advanced carbon fire composite material that was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. After returning to Earth the Space Key was stamped with a QR code, which connects it to the digital element of the Space Key.
