World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrader kit up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. In some instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative effects. Upgrades can render items unusable, unless you are very lucky.

The ability to upgrade armor items to increase their performance. This will increase the defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it could roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will get when upgraded, along with their relative values. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item upgrader kit menu, using the circling arrows. This will roll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor could make a an enormous difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few of your friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also get some perks for your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some improvements to the chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a participant, produce a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. Alternatively the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item level upgrade's rarity as well as Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to select the potions that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanics of potions. Splash potions for instance are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item level upgrade. The table for potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the liquid and refills the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions that are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but isn't important such as a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket is used to signify friendship or affection, especially between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. One can upgrade their trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the previous trinket but will also have an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded once they're no longer useful and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an extremely popular alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondaries and then other gear items that will not be replaced soon (for example an earring or cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade will ruin the previous trinket, unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still less expensive than buying the new one.
