Psychiatrists - Find a Private Psychiatrist in Surrey

Jennifer Laidlaw earned her MD from the University of British Columbia before completing an internship in psychiatry. She was involved in medical education during her residency and has presented and published papers at international conferences on topics like delirium screening social media, and professionalism. She began her career at Surrey Memorial Hospital as the Head Consultation Liaison (CL), the Psychiatry Department. Her primary focus was developing a vibrant, highly collaborative CL service to provide psychotherapy to patients in the medical and surgical units, including the Palliative Care and oncology Units. She also received an Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines for managing vulnerable patients in the hospital.

She is the Provincial Practice Leader for Psychiatry at BC Cancer, Clinical Associate Professor at UBC and Past-President of the BC Psychiatric Association. She is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine and an adjunct faculty member in the UM PM&R and Family Medicine residency programs. She has had an ongoing interest in musculoskeletal research and education. She currently teaches Neuromuscular and musculoskeletal medicine to the Family Medicine residents and has ongoing research projects in musculoskeletal education electrodiagnostic medicine, and performing arts medicine.

Dr. Pulkit Singh completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales before completing her Psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia. She was awarded the Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Psychotherapy Award during her residency to acknowledge her achievements in these areas. She has worked in various Psychiatry areas and has a special interest in Cardiac Psychiatry.

Dr Theresa Lo

Dr Theresa Lo is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she completed her medical school and residency in psychiatry. She has worked at the BC Cancer Agency, Surrey Mental Health and UBC Sleep Disorders Centre. She has a clinical practice that incorporates dialectical behaviour therapy and psychodynamic psychology. Dr Karim has been trained at Guy's King's St Thomas' and St George's hospitals in London and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
